Helping leaders get out of their own way

… and build teams that do the same

Chris Leonard has spent three decades making things work — on tour, in IT, and in the boardroom.

His keynotes and workshops give leaders the clarity, tools, and honest conversation they need to do their best work without burning out trying.

Before Chris Leonard was a keynote speaker and executive coach, he was the person making sure the show went on — literally. In the music industry, he kept a dozen adults on stage across North America, managing every human, technical, and meteorological curveball the road threw at him.

That discipline followed him into agile team coaching, and organizational change work, where he discovered that the obstacles between people and their best work are almost always the same, regardless of industry.

Today Chris coaches leaders and teams on burnout, career inflection points, and building more humane, sustainable ways of working — because when a leader gets their life back, the people around them feel it too.

What motivates me is the moment a client’s work starts to feel different — lighter, clearer, more like something they chose rather than something that happened to them.

I’ve had that moment myself, more than once. Leaving a music career at its peak because I saw what staying would cost me. Being forced out of a stable job and discovering — reluctantly, then gratefully — that the work I was meant to do had been waiting for me all along. Every chapter has taught me that the path to better work runs straight through the obstacles we’ve stopped questioning. My job is to help you see them — and clear them.
